What does the Budapest Conciliation Board do?

The Budapest Conciliation Board, as an alternative dispute resolution forum, helps consumers and businesses to settle their consumer disputes out of court.

The main aim of the Board is to facilitate an agreement between the parties in order to settle their consumer disputes. In as much this does not succeed, it brings a decision on the case, which is a recommendation or obligation if the consumer application is well-grounded, and rejection, if the consumer request has proved to be groundless. It is important to emphasize that the procedure of the Conciliation Board is free of charge, quick, and easy to use.

What does the Board NOT deal with?

Emerging disputes on financial service activities of organisations pursuing activities supervised by the Hungarian National Bank, such as complaints against banks and insurance companies do not belong to our competence. In these cases it is necessary to turn to the Financial Mediation Board
