On 21 May 2025, the Budapest Conciliation Board met secondary school students once again, delivering an interactive consumer protection lecture to the pupils of ELTE Trefort Ágoston Grammar School within the framework of the FAIRCOMADR project (“Fostering the awareness of fair commercial practices through ADR tools within Hungary”).
The event represented the third stop in the Board’s educational programme series, which aims to introduce young generations to the principles of conscious consumer behaviour.
During the session, students participated in a Mentimeter-based consumer protection quiz, learning in a playful and engaging way how to handle common consumer situations – for instance, how to act when encountering a faulty product or problems with online shopping, and what options are available through the conciliation (ADR) procedure.

The students’ openness and active participation reinforced the Board’s conviction that consumer awareness is not determined by age. With the appropriate knowledge, members of Generation Z and Generation Alpha are capable of making responsible decisions and asserting their rights as consumers in everyday life.

The Budapest Conciliation Board considers it essential to help build a society of well-informed and confident consumers, whose awareness and critical thinking develop from an early age.
Through initiatives like FAIRCOMADR, the Board contributes to strengthening consumer awareness and promoting fair commercial practices in Hungary, in line with the objectives of the European Union’s consumer policy.
