
The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Budapest Conciliation Board held a professional conference in the BKIK (BCCI) headquarters on 4 December 2024, titled “Current affairs of Consumer Protection: Experiences and Challenges”. The conference was organized in the framework of European Union project: “Fostering the awareness of fair commercial practices through ADR tools within Hungary” (101146134 — SMP-CONS-2023-ADR I FAIRCOMADR)
Members of conciliation boards and employees of consumer protection departments of government agencies arrived from all over the country to take part in the event.
Then r. Lénárd Darázs (Vice-Chancellor, University Professor, Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Political Science and Law, Department of Civil Law) a keynote speaker of the forum gave a lecture titled “Consumer contracts and the system of domestic regulation of digital content services and contracts for the provision of digital services” that attracted great attention.
The first part was closed by dr. Éva Inzelt’s presentation titled “Who understands the domestic system of consumer protection? Who does or does not turn to the conciliation board and why? Preliminary results of an empirical research”.

After the lunch break professional workshops were held in small groups, the results were summed up, after which the conference was over.
